Solid World Partners With Open Forest Protocol
Solid World is pleased to announce a new partnership with Open Forest Protocol, a trusted open-source blockchain protocol for communal verification and reporting of forest data. OFP is seeking to solve the challenges forestation projects face by providing an easy-to-use blockchain platform to measure, report, and verify environmental data transparently and affordably from anywhere in the world.
In a statement announcing the partnership, Rez, Head of Protocol for Solid World DAO, said, “Getting MRV right is an important piece of scaling and legitimizing on-chain carbon markets, and OFP is taking a huge step by developing open-source MRV solutions. We’re looking forward to working together to bring more transparency to forestry.”
Open Forest Protocol also issued a statement, saying that, “Solid World DAO is a project that OFP is looking to support due to its track record of carbon credit management within the ReFi world, its reach to projects on the ground already, and the innovative thinking surrounding the growth of a sustainable carbon economy.”
Solid World DAO is creating a transparent system that will enable the pre-funding of high-quality sequestration-based carbon projects to help them get off the ground. The platform will also enable the commodification of forward agreements, and provide much-need liquidity to the carbon economy.
Solid World DAO and OFP recently hosted a Twitter Space together where we discussed the potential of our partnership.
